Ardcarraig Clogherinkoe Public Water Supply Boil Water Notice Lifted
Safe and compliant water supply has been returned
Irish Water and Kildare County Council wish to advise customers on the Ardcarraig Clogherinkoe Public Water Supply, that following advice from the Health Service Executive, that the boil water notice imposed on the supply on the 16th of June 2017, has been lifted with immediate effect. The Boil Water Notice for the 80 affected customers was in place due to non-compliance of a regulatory water sample. The sample failed due the detection of E. coli in the water supply and unsatisfactory chlorine levels. Irish Water and Kildare County Council consulted with the HSE to ensure that a safe and compliant supply of water was returned to customers as soon as possible.
Irish Water and Kildare County Council worked to upgrade the disinfection equipment and processes at the water treatment plant supplying the Ardcarraig Clogherinkoe Water Supply. Work was completed by September and a period of process proving then took place at the treatment plant. Irish Water is now advising customers that the HSE has approved the lifting of the boil water notice and normal use of the water supply can resume for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth. However persons with impaired immunity should consult their GP before resuming normal use of the water supply.
Our Customer Contact Centre (1890 278 278) is available to answer customer queries in relation to this water notice.
Irish Water and Kildare County Council acknowledge the patience, cooperation and assistance of the general public during the period of the boil water notice and greatly regrets any inconvenience caused to householders and the business community.
