Advice of essential water main maintenance works in Limerick City

24 February 2023

Essential maintenance works taking place from Saturday, 25 February to Friday, 17 March.

Uisce Éireann is working in partnership with Limerick City & County Council to carry out essential maintenance works to safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses supplied by Newcastle Reservoir. Works are scheduled for the period Saturday, 25 February to Friday, 17 March 2023.

Uisce Éireann and Limerick City and County Council wish to advise customers in Limerick City and environs, that reservoir cleaning works at Newcastle Reservoir in Limerick City may lead to a discoloration in their water supply, for a period of time.

If discoloration occurs, it may be intermittent and take up to 48 hours to clear across the network. Uisce Éireann and Limerick City and County Council recommend running the kitchen tap for a few minutes to see if the water returns to a clear colour. For more information customers can visit our Discoloured Water page.
