Cavan Regional Water Supply Scheme has been impacted as a result of a power outage at the plant due to Storm Bella.

  • Repairs are currently ongoing 
  • These will continue for the rest of the day

Upgrade works to the disinfection system are underway

  • Notice has been put in place to protect public health
  • Approximately 840 customers are affected
  • All customers must boil their water before drinking

Clarecastle to benefit from works to end the discharge of untreated sewage

This will help eliminate the discharge of untreated wastewater into the River Fergus and the greater Shannon Estuary.

  • First phase of works due to begin on January 4th 2021 
  • Works will take place over five weeks 
  • Traffic management measures will be in place

  • All remaining works to be completed by January 2021

Approximately 1,000 people in the Westport area are affected by this unplanned outage.

  • Alternative water supply in place at Buckwaria Road
  • Customers advised to bring own containers when availing of alternative supply
  • As a precaution, customers should boil this water before use

  • Letterggeeragh; Lettergullion; Crowdrumman; Brocklagh; Monaduff; Gaigue; Derawley; Dooroc;
  • Cartrongolan; Drumlish area; Sliabh Cairbe Estate Drumlish Village; and surrounding areas
