There has been a steady increase in demand over the Christmas period spiking in the past few days following the recent cold spell

  • Public water network has experienced high volume of bursts
  • Repairs are being carried out in line with Covid-19 protocols
  • Customers asked to adhere to public health advice on hand washing and hygiene

Boil Water Notice lifted with immediate effect for customers supplied by the Wexford Town Public Water Scheme

This follows the completion of remedial measures and the receipt of satisfactory monitoring results.

  • Notice was in place since Thursday, 10 December
  • Lifting will benefit approximately 21,760 customers
  • All customers can resume normal use of water supply

Irish Water and Wexford County Council working to complete repairs to a burst water main in Gorey

Burst water main is affecting supply to up to 4,000 people in the area.

  • Raithin Cuilin, Hollyfort Road, Fort Road and surrounds affected
  • Supply is expected to return by 8pm
  • Customers may experience low water pressure and discolouration of supply

  • All customers can resume normal use of water supply
  • Notice was issued on 12 November due to deterioration of raw water quality
  • Remedial measures have taken place to resolve the situation

  • Shut off needed to maintain adequate supply in the morning
  • The second leak is located in Bridge Meadows
  • Residents are asked to conserve water for essential daytime use
