A message to our customers

Our priority at all times is the safety and well-being of our staff and our customers and we continue to follow HSE and Department of Health advice and guidance while delivering essential drinking water and wastewater services across Ireland.

Our goal is to make sure that water keeps flowing to your taps, toilets can be flushed and, most importantly, to help those who are vulnerable. If you are a business customer and your circumstances have changed, please contact us. Our Customer Care helpline is open and we are happy to help.

Reopening work premises safely

As COVID-19 restrictions ease and businesses re-open, there are a number of steps that you can take to help ensure your water and wastewater systems in your business are safe.


Vulnerable Customer Services

If you or any member of your family or friends are vulnerable, you can register yourself or someone else for our Vulnerable Customer Services. You can register online and also sign up to receive text message supply updates. If you would prefer to speak to a member of our Customer Care team, please contact us on 1800 278 278.

Helping to protect public health

We have taken a number of measures to protect public health and help slow the spread of COVID-19. Following the most recent government advice:

  • Office buildings will re-open for all Irish Water employees from 1 March 2022
  • Public reception desks will re-open from 1 March 2022
  • Non-essential works have now resumed

Following the most recent government advice, home appointments and internal investigations have now resumed. If you had a planned appointment that cannot take place, we will contact you to notify you of the change. The safety of our customers and staff continues to be a high priority. If we do need to enter your premises, we’ll work with you to ensure all works are carried out safely. If you or someone in your home has symptoms of COVID-19 or are self isolating, please let our teams know.

We continue to bill for water services as many businesses re-open and our staff, in conjunction with our Local Authority partners, are ensuring the continuation of vital water and wastewater services nationally.
