If you are moving into or out of your home, it’s important for you to contact Irish Water so we can set up a new account or update your existing account.

When you are moving home, please call us on Callsave 1850 448 448 or +353 1 707 2828, our lines are open from 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. You’ll need to:

  1. Provide your name, the address you’re moving into or out of, your contact details and your Irish Water account number if applicable.
  2. Agree a meter reading if the property is metered. For your convenience, we will generate an estimated meter reading to open, update or close your account. Alternatively, if it is safe to do so, you can read your water meter and provide the reading to us. If you do not agree the estimated meter reading and cannot read the meter yourself, we can read the water meter for you. Your meter will be read within five working days and the meter reading charge of €17 will be applied to your next water services bill.
