Enter the 2017 Green-Schools poster competition by Friday 17 February 2017 to be in with a chance of winning a tablet computer and €500 for your school.

The aim of the competition is for individual students from schools participating in the Green-Schools Programme to design a poster, which best illustrates the message ‘Clean water and sanitation'.

Secondary School

A total of 13 winners were selected from three regions (Southern, Eastern/Midlands, Connaught/Ulster and Dublin). The winning posters were chosen across three categories: Junior Primary, Senior Primary, and Secondary School; plus a new Special Award category.

Junior Primary

 

Katie McManus (Class 1) from Teresian School in Donnybrook, Dublin 4 won the junior primary category in the Dublin region for her poster, showing the water cycle.

 

Kateri Gilna (Class 2) from Aughnagarron National School in Granard, Co. Longford won the junior primary category in the Eastern/Midlands Region for her poster.

 

Grace McDonagh (Class 1) from Bullaun National School in Loughrea, Co. Galway won the junior primary category in the Connaught/Ulster Region for her poster, showing the journey of water from the cloud to the glass.

Senior Primary

 

Sinah Theurer (Class 5) from Scoil Mhuire Senior School in Newbridge, Co. Kildare won the senior primary category in the Eastern/Midlands Region for her poster.

 

Emily Calton O’Keeffe (Rang 6) from Gaelscoil Aonach Urmhumhan in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary won the senior primary category in the South Region for her Irish poster ‘Uisce: ó na scamaill to dtí do ghloine’,

 

Katie Howe (Class 5) from Shraigh National School, Bunnahowen, in Ballina, Co. Mayo won the senior primary category in the Connaught/Ulster Region for her poster.

Secondary School

 

Fiona O’Toole from St. Kilian’s German School in Clonskeagh, Dublin 14 won the secondary school category in the Dublin Region for her poster.

 

Anna Seuciuc (Year 6) from Sacred Heart School in Drogheda, Co. Louth won the secondary school category in the Eastern/Midlands Region for her poster.

 

Alanna Walsh (Year 2) from Mercy Secondary School in Tuam, Co. Galway won the secondary school category in the Connaught/Ulster Region for her poster ‘Water is the roots of life’.

Special Award

 

Dylan Scott McBride (Class 5) from Scoil An tSratha Mhóir in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal won the special award category for his poster.

Each of the students have won a tablet computer, with the three national winners also receiving €500 for their school’s Green-School committee. They will be presented with their prize at an award ceremony in May 2015.
