The Wastewater Discharge Authorisation (WwDA) Regulatory Specialist reports to the Wastewater Discharge Authorisation (WwDA) Management Specialist, in the Uisce Éireann WWDA team which forms part of the Uisce Éireann Asset Strategy & Sustainability team. Asset Strategy is responsible for the development of medium and long-term strategies in relation to the water environment, and in particular in relation to the catchments which contain Uisce Éireann's drinking water sources and which receive treated wastewater from Uisce Éireann assets.

The WwDA Regulatory Specialist is responsible for the management, preparation, review and submission of WWDA amendments, reviews and applications to the EPA. The role will focus on the continued management of Uisce Éireann's wastewater discharge authorisations' policy, strategy and planning. The WwDA team is to comprise of three technical experts responsible for the development of WwDA policy and strategy for the business, the management and delivery of authorisation and review applications.

This work requires close coordination across the business including Asset Management, Environmental Regulation, Asset Delivery, Major Projects and Asset Operations. External stakeholder management is a key component of the work with the EPA, Inland Fisheries Ireland and local authorities particularly.
