The Water Networks Asset Planning Specialist is responsible for the definition of Irish Water’s Water Conservation Strategy including leakage and rehabilitation strategy, network management programmes, and inputting into the overall Water Strategy and Business Plan for the effective operation of assets.

Water Conservation to deliver major water savings from both public and private networks is a key short and medium objective for Irish Water. Strategies in this area will look to optimise operational and capital investment to achieve the most cost-effective outcomes in terms of water savings. Strategies will embrace all technical options (find and fix, pressure management, real time supply management monitoring and control support by targeted rehabilitation) and organisational changes (regional capability and organisational changes, regional capability in support of local operation).

The Water Networks Asset Planning Specialist reports into the Water Asset Planning Lead. The Water Asset Planning team is accountable for defining the asset strategies and asset management plans to meet Irish Water’s safety, regulatory and business requirements.
