The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.

The Operational Planning and Emergency Management functional area undertakes the co-ordinated planning and oversight of routine and emergency Asset Operations activities. The functional area prepares pro-active plans for operational activities, and monitors the performance of the asset base via integrated telemetry systems in order to direct, control and monitor operational activities using improved information and integrated knowledge to enable confident, effective decision-making aimed at protecting service to our customers on a 24/7/365 basis. This will also include optimising production into supply based upon demand forecasting and alarm management and managing network integrity during interventions. In order to ensure operational business continuity they will also be responsible for developing effective contingency plans and strategies for the management of operational incidents, planning for operational emergencies, security of sites and the management of the logistics and stores to enable effective and efficient inventory control.

The Inventory Management team provides the business with materials required in a timely manner, preventing any service interruptions.

The Inventory Manager reports to the Operational Planning and Emergency Manger and leads and manages all aspects of inventory management, owning the supplier relationship and providing the business with materials required in a timely manner, preventing any service interruptions.
