The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.

The Head of Asset Operations will report directly to the Managing Director of Irish Water and is accountable for national service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards, as well as managing a major operational budget. They will be responsible for delivering on the operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and implementing standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered. The role will have overall responsibility and accountability for Water O&M Management, Wastewater O&M Management, performance of third party service providers, Operational Efficiencies & Contract Management, Operational Planning & Emergency Management, Operational Support Services, and Workflow including the development and implementation of the annual operations, maintenance and repair plans to the service quality and budgetary standards required.

This is a senior Executive leadership role, overseeing a critical national business function while facilitating major transformation of the water industry, from an SLA delivery model to a full Single Public Utility model.
